For those travelling in or out of Australia over the next week, be prepared for long queues as immigration and customs staff will take part in further industrial action. Passengers departing Australia over the coming weeks are being advised to arrive at the airport earlier.
Strikes are expected during peak periods at international airports in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Cairns, Adelaide, Perth and Darwin.
At Australia’s busiest airports, industrial action is planned for the following periods:
Sydney International Airport –
Monday 21 September at 6 am to 9 am and 6 pm to 9 pm.
Tuesday 22 September between 6 am to 9 am.
Melbourne International Airport –
Monday 21 September at 5 am to 7 am and 8 pm to 11 pm.
Wednesday 23 September at 5 am to 7 am and 9 pm to 11 pm.
Brisbane International Airport –
Monday 21 September at 6 am to 9 am and 6 pm to 9 pm.
Tuesday 22 September at 6 pm to 9 pm
Wednesday 23 September at 7 am to 9 am and 7 pm to 9 pm.
